Red Wolves Under the Gun!
The last remaining population of wild red wolves are making their last stand in the wilds of North Carolina. After a successful re-introduction and breeding program, roughly 100 wild red wolves now occupy the eastern part of the state.
One thing that is threatening the survival of the red wolf is their almost indistinguishable appearance from coyotes; they are virtually impossible to tell apart. In spite of this, the state has authorized almost unlimited hunting for coyotes in red wolf habitat.
We refuse to sit on the sidelines and watch as these precious creatures slip further toward extinction. Defenders' legal team is fighting to stop coyote hunting in red wolf territory and we need your support to keep up this fight!
Please donate today! The future of wild red wolves is in our hands and we can’t let them disappear forever!
