Support Governor Inslee's orca recovery funding

Starvation and pollution have driven southern resident orcas to the brink of extinction. These orcas depend on healthy and plentiful salmon to survive; however, salmon numbers have plunged as their spawning runs are choked by dams in rivers across Washington as well as by polluted stormwater runoff in rivers across the state.

In response, Governor Inslee has a revenue proposal to address this issue head on, increasing water spill over dams and restoring healthy wild salmon runs throughout the orca’s range.

Washington’s legislature is underway, and it’s unlikely that all of the governor’s requested budget items will be funded. This proposal needs your support to succeed.

This could be the last chance for southern resident orcas to recover. Please speak out today and help secure the funding they’ll need to avoid extinction!
