Protect California Wildlife

Help protect CA from destructive mining!

If mining companies get their way, California’s wild places could soon be home to more destructive open pit mining, including industrial scale cyanide heap leaching!

Fortunately, California has strong mining standards that require all mines to fill in their open pits and restore the lands that have been destroyed. These standard – the strongest in the nation – have helped protect our wildlife and wildlands from the worst of this large-scale development.

But now, California’s state mining board, which sets mining rules for our state, is reviewing existing regulations for open pit mines. This review gives the mining industry an opportunity to pressure the board to destroy key protections that safeguard land, air, water and wildlife.

Please tell the State Mining and Geology Board to keep these vital protections in place!
