Help Protect Florida Black Bears

As black bear populations in Florida increase, so do the chances that bears will come into conflict with their human neighbors. When people leave trash cans and other bear-attractants unsecured, it is no wonder that bears, who smell what could be a tasty and easy treat, follow their noses into communities and find themselves in trouble.

Yet despite a rule that requires residents to secure their trash cans, a lack of education and enforcement has resulted in minimal compliance in Santa Rosa.

Speak out now and help protect black bears in Santa Rosa County. Tell the County Commissioners that Florida residents must be bear-wise!
