Protect the Endangered Species Act
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is our strongest tool to prevent species from going extinct forever amid what scientists are calling the sixth mass extinction.
So why are some politicians trying to weaken it?
The House Committee on Natural Resources recently voted to advance five bills that would do significant harm to threatened and endangered species – even the most endangered species on earth, like the Asian elephant, the Sumatran tiger, and the pangolin. These bills would substantially water down the ESA’s effectiveness by undermining science-based decisions about how to protect endangered species, limiting citizen involvement in enforcing the ESA, and more.
We cannot let the last line of defense against extinction for the gray wolf, the North Atlantic right whale, the vaquita and so many more be eviscerated.
Tell your Representative to oppose these five bills and all efforts to weaken the ESA.
