Defenders of Wildlife Take Action

Help Protect our Wildlife and Wild Lands!

Tomorrow, the House Appropriations committee will vote on a last-minute provision added to the annual Energy and Water Appropriations bill that would redirect conservation funds to subsidize operation costs for large wealthy agriculture and water contractors.

This money is crucial for ensuring that water is given back to 14 national wildlife refuges, especially while migrating birds are traveling the Pacific Flyway. The loss of funding will result in the annihilation of hundreds of acres of wetlands within the federal wildlife refuges where migratory birds such as sandhill cranes and snow geese rest and feed.

Tell your member of Congress to do the right thing and protect endangered species by voting NO on Section 203 in the House Energy and Water Appropriations Bill!
