Defenders of Wildlife Take Action

Take Action to give the loggerhead a fighting chance to survive!

Loggerheads, the most numerous sea turtle in U.S. waters, have been on the endangered species list since 1978. It's the job of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to set aside critical habitat in our oceans in order for these amazing animals to survive and recover.

With increasing threats posed by climate change, paired with the destruction of nesting habitat from land development and other human disturbances, protecting them in their ocean habitat is essential to the loggerhead's recovery.

Now NMFS is finally getting around to designating this habitat, but its proposal doesn't go nearly far enough to guarantee the loggerhead's recovery.

Please take action and tell NMFS to protect loggerhead habitat in our oceans so these animals have a fighting chance to survive!
